How do I play Powerball?

How you play Powerball depends, largely, on your location

If you live in one of the 45 states that participate in the draw, the you can easily find a retailer at your local mall.

If you live outside of the USA, then you’ll need to use the services of a Lottery Messenger service that operates in your country. Try looking at https://lotterymessenger.net/ or searching for “play powerball online”.

When you’ve found a place to play, you will need to:

  1. Choose your numbers: Pick five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. You can choose your own numbers or use the Quick Pick option to have a computer randomly generate them for you.
  2. Buy your ticket: Purchase your Powerball ticket from the (online) retailer. The cost of a single ticket is $2, but you can add the Power Play option for an additional $1 per play.
  3. Check your numbers: Tune in to the live drawing on TV to see if your numbers match the PowerBall winning numbers. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
  4. Claim your prize: If you have a winning ticket, you can claim your prize at a retailer or through the lottery's website. Prizes vary depending on the number of matching numbers and the Powerball number.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are about 1 in 292 million, so it's important to play responsibly and within your means.
